In 2013, we introduced our team of Apparel Consultants to the world. At that time, apparel consultancy was almost unheard of; in fact, we were the first clothing company in Asia to integrate apparel consultancy into the business. Why did we do that? Well, after years of being in the apparel business, we realised that the market was experiencing a massive gap in the aspect of service. Traditional and conventional apparel companies were established to just get t-shirts made and printed, but no one stepped up to offer clients world-class services that could help make their apparel experience an easy, reliable and beautiful one… until our Apparel Consultants came along.

What are your responsibilities as an Apparel Consultant?

As an Apparel Consultant, I pride myself as the expert who is always by the clients’ side. It is my duty to understand what my clients need and the circumstances that they are in, and then provide them with the best solutions available. We always believe that helping our clients are infinitely more important than selling something to them.

We are also required to be attentive when dealing with our clients, and put our experience to good use by guiding them through the entire process of making beautiful custom t-shirts.

Having said that, our goal at the end of the day is to optimise the time and costs for our clients, so that they can always stay ahead of the competition.

What does your job as an Apparel Consultant entail?

It’s a lot of research from one day to another, to be honest. It’s about seeking out potential clients who share the same values that we hold dearly, including a strong and progressive culture, and being bold enough to think forward. Once we have identified our prospects, we will touch base with them by giving them a friendly call over the phone, or sending an informative electronic direct mailer to them.

Once a client shows interest in us, an Apparel Consultant will have a face-to-face meeting with them in order to understand their requirements.

Do you meet up with the clients outside of business hours?

Yes, of course. For us, it’s all about creating and sustaining valuable long-term relationships with our clients, so we definitely try to be there for our clients as and when they need us.

Aside from the clients, what other departments do you work with?

Once a client has placed an order with us, we need to work closely with our creative division to create awesome t-shirt designs or cross-check the printing requirements.

On top of that, we also need to align ourselves with the other departments in the office to stay up to date on new product offerings, check on materials and printing quality and ensure that the t-shirts are delivered in a timely fashion to our clients.

What are some major challenges that you face as an Apparel Consultant?

Under-promising and over-delivering is a motto that we live by. At times, managing our clients’ timelines and expectations during a last-minute order poses a massive challenge to us. But, we still try our very best to deliver the best to our capabilities while meeting the deadlines and keeping the budget manageable for the clients.

Another big challenge for us is trying to reach out to the clients whom we think could benefit greatly from our services. Which is why, we strive to constantly come up with new and innovative ways in putting ourselves out there for the corporations to notice and take interest in us.
